Holley Sniper and Factory Rev Counter

Hi, can anyone help me out? I have completed the install of my Holley Sniper and the only thing left to sort is getting the factory Tach (Rev counter going again. I know which is my Holley signal wire, I just do not know where to connect it into my factory wiring.

You probably need the Tach Adapter from MSD.  Also depend on what you have changed coil 12 volt ? etc. Are you controlling timing ? Digital Box ? Have you fired up the sniper ?

Yes, had it running, I have the hyper spark controlled timing. Not using any of the old wiring going to the old coil.

I could be wrong but I didn't think you need that adapter with the hyperspark? I'm using hyperspark but I have dakota digital gauges and the brown wire goes right to my tach terminal. Guessing that adapter wires into the factory wiring?

The factory Ford tach is a current driven unit and is in series configuration, power for the coil runs through it. If it's not powering the coil, it needs an adapter. Most aftermarket tachs are voltage triggered and draw a signal from the negative side of the coil. The adapter uses the tach signal from the ignition box to simulate the (+) power pulses of the coil.
