I narrowed my search down to a bad magnetic pickup. (I think). I need to replace it but I can’t find any information on how to get the old one out.
Any educated pointers here would be much appreciated.

Ok. Step one seems to be to get the pin out of the collar to release the center shaft.
That opens up the pickup plate to be lifted but it’s still being held down. Maybe vac wires?

Releasing the wire clip allowed access. I’m afraid I’ll have to take the lower pin out of the gear as well. We’ll see.
(I didn’t need to thank goodness)

The wires seem to be soldered into the circuit board underneath. To do any circuit board work the lower gear would have to be removed. I think I’ll just splice it. But I need to get this snap ring off to release the plate to remove the old pickup.

Taking the Snap ring off gave me the clearance I needed to get to those Allen bolts underneath.
Installed new one with silicone base.
Snipped the wires for a splice.
Shrink tubing and a couple zip ties to keep the wires from moving around under there.
Put it all back together somehow. Hoping I did it right.
This is my first attempt at something like this so I could be completely wrong on some or everything I did here.
Hope this helps someone else because I couldn’t find anything about it.

In summary “POSITION MARK EVERYTHING”!!!
