If you're into car customizing, you know this guy. Been a legend my whole life and kept chopping tops and customizing cars up until the end. While I'm not really into those kind of customs, it was good knowing Gene was out there doing his thing and making come epic cars and sharing his knowledge well into his late 90s.

RIP Gene Winfield, the automotive world has lost one of the greats!

I subscribe to Ian Roussel's (Full Custom Garage TV show) You Tube channel. He is also a custom fabricator and lived near Gene's ranch in the desert and he and his wife were friends with Gene. They have shot interviews with him fairly recently, and I was surprised to see that he was still actively doing this at this age not that long ago.

TBH, I am more of a stock or at least, looks like it could have come stock like that look, but I appreciated his vision and artistic talent also.

Those of us who have been around in the 60s and 70s are literally a dying breed. I try to document everything I can re: my various diagnostic and repair approaches, largely using YouTube, in an effort to produce a resource for others to be able to use. Some of the techniques and approaches used back in the 60s and 70s stopped being used with the advent of even the earliest computer based engine control.

@mrgmhale I am a subscriber of your yourtube channel. I appreciate you documenting your knowledge and experience with these older cars. It is invaluable.

Thanks -Chuck

Thank you the comment. Last Car Season I was not as active as in prior years, but this year I am doing better and expect to create some more videos that I hope others will enjoy and learn from. Ans, I also hope to learn from various comments left by others.
