some of you will recall that I work with a charity. I've done various things clean up, donated money, clean up donated money, helped put up chairs, donated money, worked with committees on events, donated money..... LOL you know what ever work has to be done. It's been a year and 8 months....

today, one of the guys who I "didnt think" knew me that well sends an email. He is on the board of directors.... asking me to provide a bio for a board vote to VP :s

Start it out something like:

"Hi, my name is Matt Foley, and I live in a van, down by the river..."

Yeah Wendell I just got off the phone this evening putting together a deal for the March car show. We now have the premium place for the show. in addition my friend has a close relation with Greg Enders. Greg is the father of NHRA Champion "Erica Enders" top qualifier lately and strutt'n her stuff in the big league. They are sponsoring us for the car show. They are bringing the car and she will be signing autographs.

Mark..... thank you! That makes it worth it, I can think of no better compliment. your term building bridges....well after some guy took the time to see a poor struggling kid hitch hike to a tech school and then went on to recommend me to Nashville Bridge (funny you mentioned bridges) as a welder to work his way out of poverty!!! So I enjoy now, returning the favor and honoring his effort. I only knew this guy as "Jim". He drove an old station wagon. He saw me hitch hiking stopped took me to within 2 blocks to the school which was close to NB. Then noticed me in the afternoons...after a few pick up and drop offs. He said "son you just stand here and wait I'll pick you up, that way you dont have to worry about how to get back and forth"

Honestly my reward is a few smiling faces that out weigh what I give.

Congrats for the honor of being nominated. Well done.
Thanks Don. It's funny though it's a lot of work....... but you look back and realize you had fun doing it. I think what makes it fun is that its a group of people much like I've noticed we have on this board..just good people.
