Looks like pics are back up! With the help of a close friend this weekend the trans is in. I'm happy to report that no tunnel modifications were required. I'm not sure if it's a result of the motor mounts I used or the bellhousing? Motor mounts are from a 71-72. The bellhousing is a Lakewood 15230 and didn't require a spacer for trans depth. Still have a lil ways to go but getting ever closer. The starter I went with is a CVR 5056 for the 164 tooth 3/8 offset.

Very nice! Did you check the alignment between the bellhousing and crankshaft? This step took me a good amount of time, but from what I read is extremely important to assure smooth shifts? I ended up adding 1.5 thousands shims on one side so the transmission is eventually aligned with the crankshaft.

The kit is from CVF racing, It's their wraptor kit.

I don't have to know how for setting that up. A buddy of mine set up the hydraulic throwout bearing and bell at his house and brought it back to mine to button up. Guess well find out. Fortunately I live close to a tremec specialist Bob Hanlon of Hanlon Motorsports and let him tweak the trans with the carbon blocker rings and some other stuff to smooth out shifts. While we were in there I swapped out my 5th gear ratio to a .82. I originally went with the .64 before doing more research. With my 3:89's driving around town and most routes around me are 45-55mph I would never get to use 5th. The RPM drop off would be too much.

Did you have to do any transmission tunnel modifications ? and what kind of driveline angles do you have ?

I would love to be running this transmission but very concerned that the engine /transmission angle would be too low and therefore require a lot of wedge at the differential.

I'll know this weekend after I get the driveshaft, 31 spline axles and 3rd member back together.

What gears are you running? I'm running 3.89's and just pulled the axles to do 31 spline and upgrade the posi.

Absolutely agree. 

I also have a TKO 600 behind a 427 Dart-based stroker in my 79 corvette. Running 3.75 rear gears and it's a blast to drive, on the open highway or back roads alike.

Still can't report with much still to do. Since this post I ended up taking the rear out to upgrade the housing and posi to a Yukon and upgrade the axles to 31 spline. Still have to wire up the sniper unit and run the fuel lines. This time of year my weekends get loaded with my side gig of detailing. I hope to get back to it soon. I'm ordering wheels and tires soon also. She'll be on the road at some point this summer, that's for sure.

 
Have you measured your drivetrain angle with the TKO600? I am curious. In my case with the transmission as high as possible I ended up with the drivetrain angle a bit steeper than OEM. I ended up adding angle shims to the axle to match the engine/transmission angle.

I have not done this either. I have the driveshaft but still have to measure everything out. There is adjustment up and down with the x-member isn't there? I noticed with the 71 engine mounts that I had to shave the corners some to allow for the headers. I know other members with a 73 and used 73 motor mounts that had to cut the tunnel some. I have a lot of space between the top of my trans and the body. Not sure if that's the result of those mounts or not. I also had the whole rear apart replacing the springs, shocks and installing the calvert tracs bars. I know the springs are set on it's guide pin but have no idea how much adjustment is going to be needed to make everything happy.

Looks great! To measure the drivetrain angle, an easy way would be to get one of those "level" apps for your cell phone. Then place your cell flat against a straight horizontal surface on the engine or transmission such as the valve covers. I did have to shave the corner of the driver's side motor mount to fit the header.
