What a surprise!

[73 Mach 1 4 me]

Yesterday I entered a car show , I wasn’t going to go but at the last minute changed my mind. I pulled into the lot and I was greeted by over a hundred cars. A lot of real money cars. My first thought was wow I don’t stand a chance of winning any prize. But I really wasn’t there to win I was there to show off my pride and joy. I enjoy meeting and talking with people interested in my car. Now Baltimore Maryland is a Chevy town because GM had a factory here (now closed). My Mach 1 is a 73 all original car with 76 thousand miles. It’s in nice Survivor condition with a few minor battle scars mostly consisting of some paint chips no body damage and no rust. Since I’ve had it I’m fixing all the mechanical things that are wrong with it. Imagine my surprise when they announced that I won 2nd place for best of show

Way to go! There are many that claim they never saw a Mustang like that before. I was told that a number of times by co-workers. There seems to be a sharp line dividing those who like our models and those who dont (those less enlightened). I assure you that your 73 was a pleasant surprise!

I had a gentleman approach me at the show and tell me about the 1967 fastback he had in parts in his garage. He said that my mustang was so much bigger the his. I pulled out my phone and got the specs on both cars his is 183.5 inches long .Ours is 189.5 inches long his is 66 inches wide our are 70 inches wide. Not much difference

The new ones are 3 inches shorter and 4 inches wider. I know their a lot faster stock , I’ve sat in one and it seamed real tight inside I guess it’s the real plush seats.
