Working on installing the TMI foam and upolsthery. This is a bit..h of a job. I got the rear seats in and not bad. The bucket seats not that easy. In any case I have one back finished with some wrinkles. I will leave with it. My question is about the rear of the back. As you can see in the picture when i install the cover there is an ugly gap. Am i missing something?

Took it out for the first drive since the engine top end rebuild and suspension replacement. WOW. She has a pile of power. Got a little more tweaking on the carb and timing I'm sure as time goes. But no bog. No hesitation at all and it puts you back in the seat hard and fast. I am extremely happy with my upgrades.

I also wanted to thank everyone on this forum for the great advice as this was my first time doing something like this. Whether direct answers to question or advice given in old threads I would not have been able to do this without the help and expertise of the members here. And special thanks to Rocket366 for all the advise on proper procedures during reassembly. Saved me a ton of time and aggravation.

Jason, I believe we have a new addition for our "Engine Porn" section. If it runs as good as it looks, then you've got a real monster hooked to your accelerator pedal. Congratulations on a job well done!     ::thumb::

Nice job!

My engine shop picked out my cam and ordered the fun stuff. If I recall correctly: .608 lift - 240 [email protected] - 112 LSA solid roller. Operating range 2600-6800. Comp Ultra Pro Magnum roller rockers, Crane Ultra-Pro lifters [$700+ :happyno:   ] and whatever guide plates. I will start being excited when the cam slides in the block and rotates freely so I know I did the bearings right. Hoping to assemble the engine next week. I am considering keeping the megasquirt 2 setup I am currently running just to start it up and see how it behaves, but I always seemed to have strange issues pop up with it. If it starts acting up I will replace it. I kind of just want to hear the cam chop at idle at this point, I don't even want to drive the car  :D

First car show I was able to make it to so far this season - man, what a scorcher with no shade.  Took my new golf umbrella (OK - so what I do on a course can't be called "golf," so it's my new 'Car Show' umbrella in reality), and just chilled in the self-made shade.

Even though the Balloon Fest was a bust (they were grounded because it was too windy), we were thankful for the breeze sitting out in the stadium parking lot.  Lots of cool cars showed up, including a 2012 Challenger Interceptor brought by a Texas State Trooper (seized vehicle, re-purposed as a recruitment/awareness show car - it was awesome!)!

Here's my entry - an old junky '71 Mach 1 :D .

And here's my view for the day (never get tired of looking at it)

There's another one next week, but it's in a car stealership parking lot... with 'no shade' once again.  If the temps are under 90, I might go... I'm not holding my breath, though.

The worst thing you can do to a cam is let is low idle and loap. You beat the lobes off and the fifters get eaten up. Keep the rev's up to same the cam.

I sat in my coupe today, and tried not to cry cause I can't take her out for a drive yet!

Visited my car at the body guys shop today. We set the rear window in and I removed door handles, locks, rear bumper, clearance lights as he got the nose in epoxy prime with a guide coat.

It will be green soon !!!!

Installed a new steering wheel I picked up so I can work on my original. I kind of like the new one though, lots more room for my legs. Also replaced my leaking tail light gaskets. Was happy to see no rust or corrosion just nice paint. Bonus you can't see light through anymore with a flashlight shinning around them. Old ones were in sad shape.

Also picked up a set of black leather seats from a wrecked Volvo that the dimensions are identical to my stock seats for cheap. Will post pics once installed. Bonus they have the seatbelt harness attached to keep the belt off your neck. They are heated seats with the controls on the side of the seat. May or may not hook them up.

They are from a 2010 convertible. They do not bolt directly to the stock s at tracks. I am fabricating some brackets that I will weld to the seat that my tracks will bolt to. Going to pick up some steel tomorrow and fab them up. Will post pics and dimensions when done. They are very comfortable and have adjustable lumbar support as well.

Got my cam and lifters, should be pretty hairy.

Checked the front wheel bearings for a noise. Didn't find anything so repacked them and put them back in. Noise is much better now so I guess I did find something without noticing it. :)
