Sorted parts that will fit in the cabinet VS those I need to put in the booth I built. Taking a day off tomorrow after 13, 10-17 hour days strait. Really looking forward to 3 days of catching up on my media blasting and promotin Tnfastbacks aluminum/retirement plan.
LOL careful with that plan or you may not remember retirement

Hauled the rusty 'old' front clip to the recyclers today, along with the pieces of rusty sheet metal and frame rails I've removed so far. for everybody's benefit, the front clip (including frame rails, aprons, shock towers, and about 1/3 of the old front suspension) weighs in around 200 lbs... and is worth about $12.83.

Before I hauled it off though, I harvested the lower motor mount plates for sand-blasting next weekend.

Also got the crank, cam, lifters, pistons, and windage tray stuffed into the engine last weekend. Still waiting on the engine fastener kit and head bolts from CJ Pony Parts, along with rocker arm stud and guide kit from Summit. Both tracking numbers say they'll be in on Monday - after I've already left for some training in San Antonio (of course...).

Sneak peek:

Can't wait to get more of the shiny and go-fast goodies installed.

Sure - why not... I can do that. ;)

Probably the most telling picture of why I went with swapping the front clip:

After - still gotta replace the battery tray apron (complete with a Super Suspension Kit from LMM):

As for the engine...

Here's a 'before' shot of the engine when it came out of the car - seized, of course (Yes, I forgot to get the other valve cover from the previous owner - not that it matters now):

And after tear-down before it went off to the machine shop (I had to literally pound the #4 and #8 pistons out with a BFH):

There's currently about 140 pictures in my Facebook album, which is here (if anybody cares to see the rest of the 'mess' I've gotten myself into): http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a...e22ae6a183

Got the floor prepped and talked to my neighbor (the retired welder) about setting up my mig to do the floor panels after I helped him rebuild his out building. Says he'llshow me how easy it is to do with my rig. I think this is going to work out pretty well.

Im cleaning the interiors and the outside. cos tomorrow is gonna be a big day for our family.. and we're going for a trip along with my nephews.

My next door neighbor came over today and we discussed bracing up the body before welding in the panels. He recommended bolting the doors and trunck lid on to get the lines right before I weld the trunk floor back in. I'm going to post a new question in another forum.

Changed the front tires. Drove the Mach to work and while sitting in the parking lot the front passenger tire blew out. I got a call from a gal in the business office, which is near the lot, who told me they heard a loud bang and thought there was a wreck in the parking lot. They went out and saw my front tire had blown. Not sure the story behind the front tires, but the had ulcers all over the sidewalls. They looked like pretty new tires with lots of tread and matched the rear tires, but only the front had big knots all over the inside and outside sidewalls. Got that fixed.

NOTE: Forgot how tough it can be to find size 14 tires in a small town.

Got my new remote drivers mirror installed and passengers side rear view mirror Temporally covered some spots on the body that has surface rust.
