Sounds nice.. Wish that was the same for me.. Mine has actually been here in Denmark but was shipped back to USA, everything just went wrong so I have to pay another 600$ for shipping, that sucks!
No way!! That's so frustrating and bloody expensive. So much for getting a deal on those gauges.

Yes that is a really bad situation.. It's not Tanner's problem I think.. I've paid 848$ for the gauges and shipping to Denmark and now I have to pay 600$ to get them back, they are suddenly getting very expensive.. Damn I hate when things like that happens..

Got the gauges. Nice pieces! Picking up the grill on Saturday. Inspiration to start up on the car again after a month lay off.

image.jpgNice pieces! Shipped to my door in Toronto for $880 all in.

They look really good! Wished that was mine, but I think I will get my money back instead, or only some of the money because I have to pay for the returned shipping and other charges! So I think I'm going with some gauges from Classic Instruments or NVU instead and making a custom panel for the gauges.. :)

That blows!! I'm sorry to hear that.

Hi 71,

Very Impressive. Any contacts as to where we can buy them from please?

Thanks,

Greg.:)
Sorry it took me so long to reply to this, I haven't been on here very much lately. Work has consumed much of my time and brain power. I bought these on eBay as a matter of fact. They are Cree brand and I got the 6000k 60w version of them. I haven't actually driven with them yet, but I am confident they will work great once adjusted well.

I am going to be doing some serious catching up on the Mustang in about a month. I will have a full week at the house alone as my wife and son are on a short vacation to her mother's house. My plans include getting the rest of the body soda blasted and in black epoxy primer, painting all of my trim gloss black, and possibly doing a custom grill close to what the wide body has on it. Pictures to come of course.

image.jpgMotorama show today in Toronto had this heavily modified 71. Crazy amount of talent and, I'm guessing, money behind this build. Thought I'd share a few shots. Excited to see something different. Possibly not one for the purists but a sweet ride.

image.jpgI am absolutely digging this engine bay!!

image.jpgSime pretty unique tail lights

image.jpgAmazing as it is I would have liked to see a little more 71 in the facia. Interior was also very well done.

Killer job on the suspension from what I could see. Never knew this car was out there. Would love to see this rippin up the road this summer. Can only imagine the sound of it. Nice treat to see this at the show today. My 8 yr old son is all the more excited to get ours out there after today's show.

Thanks for sharing, that is some serious and incredible work they have done to it.. I've never seen it before too, wierd that it have'nt been in a magazine or so.. I'm crazy about the engine bay, that's how I allways wanted mine to look like, just wondering if it's legal to build the engine bay like that here in Denmark.. :) I really like the shapes and lines of the car, but I would have liked to see a little more of the original car, like RingBrothers are doing with theirs.. I really like the original shape with some cool mods that makes it more modern, that's why I don't want my rear spoiler to look to much custom and to much bling bling if you understand.. :)

Did you have photos of other 71-73 Mustangs from that show?

it was the only 71-73. that was modded.

Just messing around with a grill idea. It gets mounted directly to the rad support and does both the upper grill and lower apron opening in one piece. It will end up a charcoal black metallic colour along with the grill surround and finished off with the black headlights. Pretty sure that's the direction I'm going with.
I have begun messing with my grill, cut the center section out and will soon begin forming the center and top piece with cardboard and fiberglass resin just like you did, don't worry mine will be a little bit different. Two questions, where did you find sheets of unbent cardboard, or did you just use leftover box pieces and where did you get the mesh for the back of the grill. I like that it still has the hexagon shaped cutouts. Thanks and keep up the excellent work!

I'm glad if I inspired a new grill idea for you same or not. As far as mine goes, the mould was made from it and I hear the new part is ready for pick up. Gonna need some final tweaks but should be a nice change. The cardboard sheets are from the door industry. Entry doors for homes are delivered stacked on pallets with thin ( two layered )cardboard sheets between each door. You will want to lightly cross hatch score the back of any complex curved areas to avoid kinking the cardboard. The grill I bought at the "Metal Supermarket" a local metal store. It's design is not octagonal. It's round.

Like those halo lights. Ordered mine in black yesterday. Today I decided to modify my stock tail lights. I will post shots once I get on it.

image.jpgYesterday I went on line looking for ideas for the tail lights and once again, nothing really different out there. Then I saw this and what they did was simply apply a decal kit and got a neat effect. So it gave me an idea

image.jpgThis morning I used my IR machine in my shop and made this lens by slumping it over an old tail light bezel that I seperated from the les. I placed smooth side down so that the textured side stayed sharp. It actually worked. Once I trimmed the edges I put it together with the tail light assembly and ....

image.jpgThrew some duct tape on it for a quick look ( because I am a visual person with no patients lol ) held it up to the light and this was the result.

image.jpgWhen the time comes I will either get it cut in premask and use it as a stencil to apply paint or actually get it cut in flat carbon fibre 3M and apply it on so that it matches my idea for the decal panel between both lights.

image.jpgWhen the lights are off the lens is clear with black.

I figure all that would be left to do after that is to install black partitions to divide the lights between all three compartments and there it is. Fun to do and pretty much free in terms of cost. You do need to use the old school lenses for fluorescent light boxes. Hardware store light lenses crack if you just look at them. Very weak and flimsy. A cut off wheel and sanding disc not any kind of saw blade for cutting and shaping.
