My morning was spent troubleshooting an air handler blower that stopped blowing earlier in the week. Turned out to be a faulty control board. It wasn't too hot in the attic, but by the time I'll able to install the replacement, that may not be the case.
 
This past month has been rebuilding an axle for my C10. The old situation was pretty extreme. Factory 10 bolt open diff with 2.56:1 gears. Back in the day, I'm sure that did great on the highway. I have swapped in a 700r4 transission so now have an overdrive. Considering the factory tire size, diff ratio, OD ratio, lockup torque converter, and a 5000 rpm redline, this was setup to do 256MPH. Great for fuel mileage, less great for anything else.

I bought myself a 12bolt rear end and have spent the past month pulling it apart, cleaning it up, and rebuilding it. 3.73 gears, eaton truetrac carrier, all new bearings and seals, new drum brake guts, new shocks.

Yesterday I pulled the old axle out of my truck and got the 12bolt in place. Today I need to swap the u-joint in the driveshaft and bleed the brakes.
 
I took my father, mother and sister for a ride up and down the strip in my '72. I had reinstalled the front seats and seatbelts for the visit. It was awesome even though most of the other interior wasn't in yet. But the engine, suspension and steering updates all made for a much improved ride compared to previous. Great ride!

I’ve got the cab all stripped and epoxy primed. Now it’s time for all new seam sealer and bodywork the few dents on the roof

I know that I should be working on my mustang more and owe an updated video for the other thread that I added the wrong video to but I have been spending my Saturdays over the last year or so helping a friend get his 55 Ford Fairlane Victoria model with the 292 Y block running. Finally got it running well after tearing the engine apart and fixing what his normal mechanic said he had fixed. After his mechanic had finished it, the engine compartment caught on fire, his mechanic said he fixed everything but it never ran right. If my friend would drive it, no matter how short or long of a distance, it always came home on a tow truck. He parked it for many years then last Christmas asked me to look at it. After all the troubleshooting and work, it finally runs great.

I worked on completely stripping the hull of all of it's hardware, on one of my dragboats. The only thing made of any sort of metal left on her is the bow eye. this whole deal is a one man job, as there's no one I know interested in boats or helping. Pull the engines? ( there are two), Yep just me, Strip out the steering? Solo flight, Get in and out of the boat a zillion times, crawl under it on the trailer as many times, again ,Still pulling a single. I am quite to myself on this project, all of the services I need are in California. The one Drag Boat I'm stripping bare is going to California to have it's wood deck re-done. Here in Idaho, they've still not discovered Drag Boats, and there 's no place to use 'em. There are circle boat races near, but they don't even want to make room to display Drag Boats there, let alone run them. I've tried. Really, my Mach 1 rarely needs work, so I mainly do my thing with the boats . I drive the Mustang a lot, have a new engine going in eventually here, if I ever get the pushrods I ordered from Summit, been months now. I may cancel my order and go with Smith Bros as I originally intended to.
 
This is the machine. It’s a SFX 1500 watt cleaning laser. The lead cord is 32’ long and the gun weighs less than 3lbs. It was the largest one I could get without 3 phase. The machine cost $10700 delivered from china and about a two month shipping wait. It is totally adjustable is laser width and power. I can go from 1/4” wide to about 8” wide. I haven’t been able to do it yet but I have seen videos of cleaning the paint off a pop or Beer can without damaging the aluminum. There are other machines made by different companies that will clean, cut, and laser weld

This is a few things I have done with it. The fender is aluminum from a hailed out f150. I had the railroad track in the shop. I just did the Backhalf of a 90’s s10 pickup frame yesterday
