There is no specific motor/block number on our engines. Behind the starter, you will find the cast number of the block. On top of the block, close to the transmission, at driver side, you will find a stamped-in partial VIN. If this VIN matches with the VIN of your Mustang: congrats for the numbers matching block.
Cheers Frank

I have one more question can you tell me what kind of engine you have by the VIN?
5th digit of the VIN is the engine code. For 73, this chart below. There were more letters available for the earlier years. 73 was entering the smog era and big motors were not available.

If you're interested in knowing more about the various codes and casting numbers that Ford uses you'll find a compilation of code numbers in spreadsheets here:

The buck tags are found on the radiator support, usually on the passenger side. It's a small metal tag with information that shows some components used in the assembly of your car. The data plate is the decal on the driver door that shows the VIN and some other information.

Casting number can be found in the pdf in this post:

The block casting numbers are in the lower part of the block on the passenger side above the starter.
The head casting numbers are found on the bottom side of the heads.

If you have a 302, the VIN should be stamped on the top of the block, in the back, drivers side, facing up. Just behind intake. Look for a flat spot about 1.5x2 inches. Clean the paint and grime off and partial car vin is there….
