Quick update. Response from Hampton Inn in Concord is that they expect to have all of the information in the system by the 15th of April. Sales Manager indicated that the system allows him to put entries in 365 days in advance. With the first dates being the week of 04/14/14 he should be able to have them entered on Monday. I will be out of town on business for the rest of the week, so I will check back with him next week.

Yes I plan on going. Do not know which Pony I will be taking. Hopefully the 65 will be done. If not 72 vert, if that fails the 96 will be there. Looking forward to this event.

What's the information on the event? Where in Charlotte is it? What days is it going on (and times if announced yet)?

Because I might be able to come and check it out, depending on when it is. I know I'm the new/youngest guy on here, but I'd like to check out some of your rides. I live about 45 minutes away from Charlotte, so I can most likely make the drive there and back.

And if my '73 Mach 1 is done by then, I'll bring photos. (I'll bring photos because I had a bad driving experience driving down I-85 in my 2011 Camaro and refuse to drive anything I care about down that highway now.) And if it's not done, I'll still bring photos.

But yeah let me know please! PM me or e-mail if you have to!

Hopefully towing my brothers Boss 302 to Vegas. That's his goal to have it done by then. If not I will be taking my 89 GT.
We plan on making the Vegas 50th next year with our local Mustang club. Although many in our club (the ones with late models) are driving the 1,100 miles we'll be flying. Can't see a 2,200 mile round trip to Vegas in a loud 42 year old car with no air, I like driving the car but not that much. Plus leaving it a Casino/Motel parking lot for 3 nights with drunks coming and going just doesn't sound appealing...so we're flying and going to enjoy checking out all the Mustangs that do show up. Maybe we can meet up with 7173 members who show up.

Jim

We are just about 4 months away from the 50th celebration.

Some good news bad news for me though. I have to re-think attending Charlotte. We recently learned from our daughter and her husband that we are expecting our first grandchild with a due date of April 8th 2014 :D. My wife and I will be travelling from Virginia to the Birmingham Alabama area to visit for this great occasion. We will probably be going down during the first week of April and staying for two weeks which overlaps the events in Charlotte.

My wife says I should just fly or rent a car and attend from Alabama, but that precludes me from taking one of the Mustangs. Anyway, I'll hang onto my hotel reservations for a while until I determine what I'm going to do. If I decide to cancel I'll post up to see if anyone wants to take over the reservation.

Mike, like they say, Family comes first, and that is one event you don't want to miss (first grandchild)

my wife and I have been talking about it, my local Mustang club is driving down there, and I was planing on Driving the Mustang there, its about 900 miles and they are doing it in 3 days.

but I'm also debating driving down or trailering it down.

and if its just going to be me and my son, or the whole family.

Believe it or not.... this is the first time I've entered this thread.....

::shrug::

I"m not one typically for going to "All Mustang Shows". I took the convertible to 2 at Daytona. "Super Stang Fest". Well what I experienced the first time, became reality the second time as well. It was more like "come look at my new mustang that I've added a K&N filter to and washed the engine bay so I could look like everybody else at a Ford dealership" show. In 2007 I was ONE of 17 classics... everything else was late model waxed up cars and maybe a different set of wheels. My friend took his 95 540 hp convertible, it was black.... so we are proceeding to the parking area these guys pounce on him saying "Hey dude come and park with the BLACK MUSTANG CLUB" he replied "Mind if my friend in the classic convertible parks with us?" they reply "no we dont want that one in our group...its just for black Mustangs" He replied....I guess I'm just not that interested in your group then" :D Needless to say we had 2 people stop and look at 1 of 35 Diamond Blue Mustangs ..... and the rest waltzed by as if we were not there. the two guys that stopped 69 Mach I owner and a 65 fastback guy. Both very complimentary of both cars!

So back to the subject.......

hmmmm 1063 miles divided by 7 ..... 532.00 in fuel one way ::chili:: and running 65 max as I cringe with the 3:89 gears making the rpm's shoot way up.....

I believe I will opt for trailering Black Betty if I bring it. However I may very well put in my plans to come out and join the group meet some fun folks!!!! so I would say 1 room two guest ( potentially). I've got a friend an hour out so i may stay with him He's a BIG FORD guy.

Yeah, as it gets closer I might have to rethink as well. I'm not giving up on it yet, but I think it might be a little too ambitious for me get mine done in time for the event. Like OLE PONY, I'll know more as things progress and I'll hang onto my reservations until about a month before the event. If I'm not done and on the road by then, I'm out (to which, I'll post up and see if anybody wants to jump in after I cancel). I'm thinking I'd like a solid month of normal driving to work out the bugs before making the trip.
