Part # or casting # for a 1971 M code bellhousing to bolt to a toploader 4 speed.

I am trying to replace the stripped parts from a Mach 1. It was re-powered with a 302, 3 speed toploader and a 8" rear with non-staggered shocks. This was purchased near Boston. Car is solid from NM.

Tanks, Sheriff41. I bought a 31 spline main shaft, 351C conversion, from David Kee's. I did not know he had a chart for Bell's. The Main shaft has fluting, same as OEM and perfect fit. I like his blocker's as well. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/182539887905226

The part number for the bell housing you need changed three times. The original D1TZ-6392-A (ID# D1TA-AA) was replaced by D1TZ-6392-C (same ID# D1TA-AA), which was replaced a third and final time by D1TZ-6392-D (ID# D1TA-BA). These bell housings were sourced from the 240 and 300LD six-cylinder engines found in the 66/ E and F series Ford trucks. The D1TZ bell housings were also used in the 69-79 E and F series trucks with 302's.

Some Boss 351 owners with very early-built cars reported having a C5TZ-6392-B (C5TA-A) bell housing on their vehicles. The D1TZ replaced the C5TZ. The C5TZ housing is not listed in the Ford MPC for the Boss, so it was probably a temporary early production line issue.
