Hey guys I am getting ready to rebuild/reseal my power steering gearbox. I had it bead blasted, but what color should it be? bare? How did you guys finish yours? just curious, dont want to put it in and have it rust up on me. Also ordered a rag joint for it and they called today and asked if the input shaft was .75 or .821??? If anyone knows off hand let me know. If not i will check it when i get home tommorrow. Thanks Kevin

Probably glossy engine black. There is a difference between what you paint

flat black and glossy black for the engine bay, but don't know what that is.

No help on the shaft size.

mike
my inner fenders and frame rails are flat black

The steering box and top cover are "natural" unpainted. The top cover is aluminum and the housing is iron. VHT high temp satin clear, applied lightly, gives the natural appearance and prevents rust. Chuck
