However, I went by the body shop today and he's making good progress even though he almost got evacuated from the fire here in Colorado Springs. Bodywork on the driver door is almost done, as is the bodywork on both fenders. Body filler is on the hood and curing, the trunk is all cleaned out and just about ready for rust treatment. He aligned the doors and panels previously so they will go back on nice and straight. Schedule is delayed a little due to the wildfire, his accident back in February, and some other things beyond anyone's control, but I should have the car back and done by the end of summer if school permits.

Cleaned up my welds a bit to get ready for seam sealer on the body. Then found a few parts laying about that needed blasted and painted. Those are getting fewer by the day! :p

Paint them up tomorrow before my nerve conduction test.

Decided to replace the entire rusted section of the front tunnel with a piece of the donor car (go figure a piece that wasn't rusted) Decided to do the offset on the bottom section lip using the tool Q recommended because I had already overlayed the new floor over the old one. Thing worked great. Better than my left handed strait cutting abilities. :-/

Working on installing a new water softener so I can have the weekend to finish up the rear axle. Sad, but all I really have left is setting the pinion pre-load, axle seals, hanging the axle brake lines, and putting it all back together.

Also had a great time last night playing for the city of San Angelo during the 3rd of July Pops Concert. The San Angelo Community Band kicks the evening off with an hour of tunes, then makes way for the San Angelo Symphony to play a concert and music for a fireworks show.

Happy 4th, guys!

Well Its been a while but i finally Have my rotisserie done.

The jamb bolt method doesn't work

If i was to redo it i would put a round plate with a series of holes that could be used to pin it in the location you want.

That's freaken AWESOME! I wish I'd had the stones to build one when I was replacing all the underside sheet metal.

Nice job!

You were right. Being an electrician and having bumped up on 277V in the past, the test wasn't bad. Could REALLY tell the difference when she tested the left vs the right. Same nerve as 2 years ago but this time they say it really is carpol tunnel.

Man that looks fntastic. Congratulations!

Ground down some more welds and then cleaned and painted some of the engine compartment stuff. Ordered my centerlink and it should be here Saturday.

All,

Finally got the 460 cleaned, painted and ready to go into the engine bay. Installation went very smooth !!! No scratches or bumps in the new paint. As you can see it is almost complete. Also completed the gas tank and fuel line installation.

It's getting close to rumbling now !!!

Thanks, Jay

Scott,

Looks like a very nice solid driver !!! Good luck with it.

Haven't done anything today but may come across another 73 parts car complete minus engine for $200 and a factory set of mag 500 for 200 steering wheel 2 fenders and bunch of miscellaneous interior and trim bits for 80 bucks. I'm awaiting pictures of parts now if they are in decent shape I may hit the jackpot of used parts. This Guy has like 10 71-73 mustangs. Doing nothing with them at all and said I'm free to leave the cars there and pick off what I need when I need them. Also has some mach1 with all disc brake and suspension hardware etc. Going to look for myself this weekend. The best part is he's willing to come off anything just make offer so I'm jumping on this deal if its as good as it seems. But we all know how that can turn out. If everything is legit and decent condition I will start a thread in marketplace and you guys can just let me know if you need anything I might be able to get cheap.

Nice job Marc. What did you do with the blue car? Whats the plan now that you got the rotisserie done?

Nice job on the engine bay very nice.

I spent most of the 4th sanding the under side of my Mach 1. I would say i'm about 80% done. Going to try to finish sanding this weekend and move on to welding up the patches.

Thanks Mike

The blue car is shrinking

With the car on its side i am starting to seam seal every thing

Then paint the bottom and engine bay

after that i am going to mount the doors and fenders and do all the body work on the sides of the car.

then i will put it back on stands to mount the steering linkage and rear end.

that's the plan for now

I know this falls under the "Way too much time on his hands" which is true. But I had to have something to weld to!

DSCN1639.JPGDSCN1641.JPGDSCN1642.JPGDSCN1643.JPGDSCN1646.JPGDSCN1647.JPG

I didn't want to be like the previous owner and make something work :dodgy:

DSCN1645.JPG

Can you spot the real seat bracket. BTW Don if you're out there. I need one for the DS rear seat floor hold down.

So I started out this morning with the plan that I would have the interior POR-15'd by the end of the day. Swept and aired out the garage then swept out the trunk and floor.. wait a minute forgot to move the backseat and trim brackets. O.K. well had to rebuild one of the trim brackets beacause OMS is not open on the weekends. No problem (Oh, by the way don't forget those back seat brackets)

Get the trim bracket rebuilt and both of them welded down. Might as well weld down the one bottom hold down I have, I'll just tape where the other goes so as not to have to grind off the rust stuff. (don't forget those back seat brackets in the parts car)

Found where some metal was coming loose on the PS bumper frame. Better get that while I'm thinking of it. Hell would be easier to DA the floors and trunk with that old package tray out of the way (BTW don't forget those back seat brackets in the parts car)

Cut, ground, cleaned up. even pulled the air line out to DA first thing in the morning and rustproof from the trunk to the front bumper. Yeah....... guess what?

Used a Dremel to scrape the firewall, degreased and finished painting the engine compartment. Also took doors and trunk lid off to prep for primer. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1341749016.875626.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1341749067.466656.jpg ImageUploadedByTapatalk1341749085.264418.jpg

Looks great! Glad to hear I'm not the only one working in the heat!. Keeep up the great work.

Got those pesky seat brackets removed and welded down. Had to remove part of the frame underneath to get them loose cleanly. Then went back to front grinding, welding missed holes, 80 grit... you know the drill. Spent the last 3-1/2 hours washing, vacuuming, tack clothing. Rust proofing as soon as I get back from doctor appointment in the morning. Life ain't bad. ;)
