Haven't touched it in to weeks:mad:. Nothing going to happen this week ether. It's my 17th wedding anniversary so I have to pay attention to the wife:dodgy:. Oh well going to nice dinner tonight and whale watching off the coast of San Diego tomorrow. Then Wednesday she fly's to Chicago to see family. PARTY AT MY HOUSE:D. Ok maybe not but the dog and I will be eating carne asada burritos in the living room in front of TV .
Happy Aniversary!

Pulled the headliner [finally] and just as I expected, there was lots of nice factory Ford Light Pewter lookin' back at me. I say 'just as I expected' because most of the rust I've found on mine has been down low and on the horizontal surfaces.

Looks like all the trim pieces around the windows, windshield, and door frame should clean up really well (no deep scratches or plastic embrittlement on any of them - fortunately). It's about time I got a break on 'something' with this project (besides the AOD score)! LMAO
Glad to hear this Eric! My PA car has similar low horizontal rust. Coincidence? Lol

Alright! Get back to work! Just kidding. :p I've been in exile the last week and getting some much needed repair work done on my other house. :dodgy: Hands aren't healing for crap! I'm thinking they need some FORD therapy! :D

Since I am moving the car to the paint shop this week, we decided it was time to register and insure the car. Began the process of completing the paperwork for both. Decided to finally change the registration from my dad's (original owner) to my name.

Yeah more gas and less clutch:p no seriously have not really just turned it loose with the first clutch change out and now going through the waiting period again with the new clutch and tranny. Mark and I let it loose a little and seemed ok on asphalt. I was on concrete before not sure if that makes a diff or not and the tires have a few miles on them now also.

Got the rest of the interior stuff out - I had left the headliner, sail panels, and trim in when I started this project, and finally got to removing it this weekend. All the sheet metal under the rotten old stuff I took out seems rust-free - Yay! Scraped off all the old adhesive and rubberized yuck the factory sprayed in, so next weekend should be all about Rust Bullet and seam sealer.

I also cleaned up some of the plastic trim - used some Goop hand cleaner and the pieces I did look almost new. I think I'll be prepping and re-painting with the SEM interior black though - just to make sure it's all the same color.

Gotta post this up. My buddy brought his new GT500 Super Snake (dyno sheet shows 735HP at the crank, and 650 to the rear wheels) over for the customary "Ooh, Ahh" show and took me for an adrenaline spin on the freeway. When we got back he reprimanded me for not taking him for a drive after having rebuilt Cleveland. With the new 3.50 rear end, I was able to put a nice smile on his face without having to go all the way out to the freeway. Pretty cool.

Good idea. The SEM dye will add UV protection to the plastic parts & keep them from embrittlement. (I just recently learned that word lol)
