Looking good guys!

Question. I need to do some rust proofing on my 4speed car. Do I use Rust Bullet black or silver? Then where do I get 105 sqft of RAAMat?

I like driving the 4speed car and want to get it rust proofed so I can drive it in any weather. Not that I'll plan to drive it in the rain but this is Mobile, the wettest city in America. Chances are that I'll get caught in the rain. When there is zero percent chance of rain the weather guy still says 30%. that's as close to zero as we get. Lol

Don't know what color to use but I'm using the Rustoleum Bed Liner for undercoating. Looked great on Roy's car.

Don,

The silver is for rust protection..It then gets top coated with the black..For a more o.e.m look instead of top coating with the black shell you could use the S.E.M rustsheild in flat black ...If your going to redo the car down the road I won't do the rust bullet now.. Instead just use S.E.M. rustsheild straight from the can..Wire wheel remove surface rust..It's how I did my Camaro...& I'm going to do the same on the New one I bought..Excellent product..put on the same way (foam brushes & rollers)

Here's where to order the raam mat

He needs something to go right onto bare metal for rust protection..Thats not the product to use ..That product is a top coat for something that already has a finish or base on it..

Don, I've just used some rust bullet in the past couple months, I sprayed automotive version out of some cheap Harbor Freight Guns on my front clip. This past weekend I used a sponge brush to put it in on the inside and outside of the door post. Man its a pain to clean up when shot through a gun.Overspray, well its some nasty stuff. The brush on the other hand just threw it away. That rust bullet is some tough stuff. Im not so sure I wont be applying it with a sponge brush from now on. It sure was a lot easier to clean up. You need to use Xylene or something like it to clean it out of your gun. Just thought I would chime in and let you know my experience with it.

I worked like a squirell 2 weeks before hibernation. Finally got a look at how the 2 tone turned out on my cowel braces. Then worked on the spare seat boxes for a while. Bolted some parts on to check the look. And finally finished prepping the underside to recieve the rustoleum coating I'm going to start tomorrow. Oh, put a spare on the leaking tire on the 72 and put a bunch of parts away.
Nice touch on the cowl braces.

My weekend was all about Mustangs. 1st I helped my brother install his factory 4.30 Detroit Locker back into his 70 Boss 302. We also installed a OEM fuel tank he bought back in 86. 2nd The wife and I took her 2013 convertible out for a long after noon ride. 3rd I spent the next 2 day working on the Mach 1.I finished sanding and priming the left wheel house. Then I got the patches welded in on the left quarter. They need a little bit more work but there close for now. From their I moved on to Internal frame coating which took all of 10 minutes. Now for the fun part I under coated and painted the underside. What a great weekend with the Mustangs.

Awsome M...Looking real good !

Oh yeah - I am SO getting a set of those for the car shows. Very nice, Roy! ::goodjob::

Monday night, I ordered two more 35 sq.ft. RAAMat kits (should be here Friday, according to the tracking number), and scored a 'new' steering column off ebay. I thought about waiting for the $595 (refurbished) column, but practicality jumped in and decided that a little bit of scrubbing and a can of spray paint was worth the $200+ savings.

Oh yeah - got the kick panels in last night, but I had to run the pooch to the vet (still has a nasty cold or sinus infection - snot running everywhere, poor little guy) so I didn't get a chance to crack open the box. I'll do that tonight.

I cured the slight miss and dieseling with 8 new Autolite 25s & wires. I gapped at 35 because I was too greasy handed to look it up. Seems like that's the correct # IIRC.

I'll start a new post with a question about timing.

well yesterday I tried to take it to a local car night, but barely 5 minutes after leaving the house w/ it the metal cover for the horn actually fell off into my lap....couldn't believe it,lol

While it didn't affect the driveability of the car or the use of the horn I had decided to cancel my car show plans cause I didn't want to show a car w/ something that obvious missing. Later after talking to some people in my club I was surprised to find this is apparently very common w/ the old version of this aftermarket wheel (I think it's a grant)

I talked to my dad about it, and though he figures it would be fine to fix it, I've started talking him into getting a stock/correct wheel for car. Basically because it's the only part of the interior of the car that isn't original/stock....and the fact that I've seen this same wheel on a million other classic mustangs and I just think that's pretty lame.

Went to make the final adjustments on the steering gearbox and discovered what the 2 missing balls for the worm will do. :dodgy: I'm supposed to have 4 full turns on the input shaft. After 3-1/4 I heard a noise that sounded like something grinding and the shaft abruptly stopped. Now the worm gear moves the piston forward and back. I did notice a ever so slight lip in the bore that I emory cloth and PB Blastered until I felt it was smooth. Apparently I traveled beyond the previouse rebuild position and scored the piston while pushing the o-ring out of it's groove. Looks like NAPA rebuild to me! :(

Thanks Scott. It feels like I'm getting some weir with it. I keep going out to the garage and looking at it. Just one thing? How do I get it down off that crazy roller thing.:D

After replacing the pins and bushing put a coat of primer and paint on my hinges. Then started seam sealing today after playing plumber with one of the water pumps. I think I hate Caulking as much as brush house painting!
