Received a couple of nice, heavy boxes from Classic Auto Air a few days ago, and I've been researching some of the things I still need to get to hear the engine run. I seem to have a plan going on, and then either get side-tracked or wind up thinking things through and going down a slightly different path to make sure the things I do are in the right order (to avoid having to take stuff apart to do something I should've done first, et al).

My plan now is to get the Classic Auto Air kit installed [tomorrow] and run the wiring harness. Once the harness is in, THEN work on getting the engine fired up. After that - probably put it on a trailer and take it home.
Sounds familiar! :p

A friend of mine and I installed my rebuilt C6, modified with lower 1st and 2nd gears, rebuilt 8 stud small converter, and new cooler lines. Really tight fit for those lines.
I can't believe I got here first! :p

I did a free upgrade today. Scored a free shifter boot last weekend @ LKQ, out of a 2002 Focus. I modified it and mounted it to the bottom of the console. It turned out pretty good IMHO.
Sweet, working on the lights. They were moved to a different location:mad:

washed it

taking it to some classic car races w/ my stang club tomorrow. Not to race of course, but they always have an area just for the car clubs to park in/show off their cars behind the main stands

still a lot of work,, but i think its gonna look pretty nice..

Started with the Classic Auto Air installation yesterday. Since I wasn't quite ready to cut the 4" hole in the firewall (after everything I've done to my '71... I know, right?), I jumped ahead to the compressor installation. I had to drill out the mounting holes for the heads (CAA mentioned I might have to depending on which head bolts it would need - which they included both), but it all went together well after that. Also got the power steering pump situated and the hoses run to the new gear box. Also tested out the 'new' steering column, and it's Great! Tilt works and everything.

Now, I'm off to the hardware store for a 4" hole saw and some new bolts for the water pump-side of the power steering bracket (the old rusty ones look horrible with all the new ones in the other places). Gonna also take the wiring harness out to the shop and hopefully get some of that run today as well as some more of the HVAC installation done.

Started the morning stripping the frame connectors and then getting the car supported so I could drop the front of the rear springs to mark where I need to cut my floor before welding them in. Bill stopped over and convinced me to come watch the race this evening. Great freind! ;)

This weekend was pretty productive (finally). I got the big parts of the Classic Auto Air system installed - the evaporator/heater core unit, compressor, and condenser. Also managed to get the firewall insulation installed, alternator mounted up, power steering pump & hoses installed, and e-brake 'cabled up' (just gotta mount it now).

Here's the evaporator/heater core installed with the firewall insulation:

The front of the engine with the A/C compressor, power steering pump, and alternator (hiding behind the fan):

And finally, the condenser:

I should be able to finish up the HVAC next weekend, along with maybe a radiator & hoses, belts, and electrical harness.

WOW I spy a car in there:p Good work you should be proud

took the mach w/ a few people from my mustang club to the Coronado Speed Festival on NAS North Island here in SD. It's mainly a weekend of classic car racing but they have an area behind the bleachers just for car clubs to come and show off their cars.

Always fun lots to do like test drive road courses, ship tours (since North Island also has a long dock/pier on the bay side of the base). Pretty cool day but I think I got a bit of sun stroke, lol
