I love Chasing Classic Cars. I like Wheeler Dealers most of the time, but some of the cars they work on I'm not too thrilled with. In one episode they restored a Soviet era Polish car that was terrible.
The FSM Syrena. Still more enjoyable to watch that segment than any episode of American Hot Rod or the 5000 identical copy-cat shows that have since followed.

That's the one. I agree with your statement on the contrived resto shows.

Pity about the rain! I'd like to run my car on VR1 but I want 10w30 which they don't sell here, only 20w50. It's hard to buy oil with ZDDP in here, hell it's hard to buy mineral oil.
Not to change the subject but I always wanted to ask someone from the UK if they watch a car show called Wheeler Dealer? I love it!

Strangely we don't have a TV! We just download stuff to watch (use Netflix etc) & use the internet for news. Some friends of mine do like to watch it, I guess I should catch up on it.
That's cool... I was interested to see if British folks also watched it... We love both Mike and Edd! We love their accents...

Just got back from the body shop - things are moving right along! The body work is pretty much all done - the painter's planning on shooting color next week. Just gotta adjust a few things before paint goes down..... SO excited!!

The hood's underside is done - that's paint code 'V'- Ford Light Pewter. Looks a little goldish in this light, though.

The body guy worked miracles... my quarter panel mistakes are all but gone.

Now, I gotta run to the shop, finish up the Mustang Steve hinge kit and get them to the painter tomorrow.

Looking good Eric! I am glad you are happy with his fixes. I tried doing some body work once (maybe twice) and it is an aquired skill. The gold does look a little intense in the pics but I think it is the lighting. That should turn out awesome.

Thanks guys! I just dropped off the hinges and checked on a couple things I forgot to ask about last night.

The paint is definitely not as 'goldish' as the pic suggests - I guess I should quit letting the Paintshop Pro filters automatically do the job... and get a better camera, too. ;) :D

Nothing with the mach today (since it's at my parents house) BUT my LX foxbody FINALLY left the paintshop!

....will have better pics tomorrow hopefully when I get to see her myself (since my dad picked her up today)

Well, I did this yesterday - not today - and it wasn't technically to my car - though I bought a pretty good heapin' helpin' of it:

Both pans are very rough and patched terribly (not to mention the '65 pan on the RH side), but there are some good bits to cut out or use as small patches:

Nice torque box. With any luck, I'll never need it. Ever. Pretty please.

And that's just the floor. Got a nice heap of stuff in the shed from the same unibody :D

Well I finally had some time to attack the massive job of pulling my steering wheel off and straightening it. It's nice and straight now from its cocked to the left position. Someone got in a hurry putting it back on after a tilt wheel rebuild.

Also located and bought a rare rear defrost Carlite SunX80 back window. Very clean. No I did not need one because mine is in good shape but it was cheap.

Oh I almost forgot, I applied some factory decals under the hood. Man am I so skilled! You guys laughing at me yet?

Well, my mustang is finally back on the road after the winter break and the the AOD issues.

Everything is fixed, the AOD works and I drove it for the first time yesterday.

To top it off, it now has a Rocketman tach in lieu of the idiot light gauge. I LOVE IT!!! :)

Aaaand, it has the original clock in the center console that our member Eddiew gave me last year. With all that new stuff inside the car I could not decide where to look. Tach, console clock, tach, clock, tach.....

I decided on "road" after a while. :)

Hi Mike, Nice to hear that you are happy with the new adds in your C

I went by the painter's shop today to drop off some pics of how the rocker panel black should go on (to make sure he doesn't paint the Light Pewter on the front and rear valances first, wasting the paint). He seemed a little 'iffy' on what it was supposed to look like when I described it... now he's totally tracking. He'll also let me know when it's time for the blacks so I can bring the hood template and make sure it's how I want it.

Right now, the jambs, windshield and back light channels, and trunk surround are painted, so he'll be having Bobby hang the doors, mount the fenders, hood, and trunk lid (and get 'em all lined up) to hopefully paint the basecoat Light Pewter this weekend. All the small parts (mirrors, front bumper, parking light bezels, fender & quarter end caps already have color on them - he's planning on mounting up the end caps before painting though, since he already 'jambed' the fenders and tail light areas).

And of course... I forgot my camera. And forgot to make sure the antenna hole on the passenger fender is plugged and smoothed over... but I'll check back tomorrow on that.

On another website I frequent this is by far the most popular thread there. I thought I would try it here.

Now guys we're not talking the daily driver or momma's car. Let's keep this specifically devoted to posts on our 71-73 Mustangs. Like usual no flaming, constructive opinions and commments please.

I'll get it started... Today NOTHING, Yesterday I drove it to work and cleaned up the charcoal cannister for repaint and reinstall. I took it off earlier this summer and have terrible fuel smells coming from the car. OOPS :D
