Man that sucks, I know you probably don't like to talk about it but how did it catch fire?
Nicked a fuel line while cutting out a rusted floor pan. I thought I had the fuel line out of harms way, but apparently not. Lesson learned. In the future, I'll make sure to empty the fuel and pull the tank before I start making so many sparks. And I'll keep a BIG fire extinguisher handy. The little kitchen extinguisher was not up to the task.

On the bright side, I now have a motor, trans, and rear end to build a rat rod around. ;)

I've already got a 73 Mach 1 that I've agreed to buy. As soon as the insurance company reimburses me for my losses (should be very soon, now), I'll take a weekend and head over to eastern TN to drag it home.

Cool Deal. Make sure you post some pics of the Mach when you get it.

Yesterday, it was really busy at the Auto Hobby Shop, so all I had time for was to fire it up and talk about it to one of the gearhead kids that was interested. Don't get me wrong, if that's all I get to do I'm happy (since it at least runs now), but I'm getting a little annoyed that this deal [to keep it open] seems to be working against me, with regards to getting the beastie back on the road.

I just keep telling myself that I'm still doing good things for our troops, since we were able to help a struggling E-3 save over $800 by not having to take his car to the stealership for something no longer covered under warranty.

Yeah, just gets a little frustrating at times. When we weren't actually tagged to run the shop, I got A LOT of stuff done. But things have slowed down to a crawl these days. I was hoping to get it to the paint shop by Turkey Day, but I think I'll be lucky if it's by Christmas. If I don't have it back from paint by the end of January, I might not be able to make the trip to Charlotte (and THAT will bum me right the Hell out).

Unfortunately I Spent the weekend working on a friend of the wifes 95 Escort, with 62,000 miles on it. Water pump, hoses, plugs, wires, timing belt, ect. Wouldn't recomend it. the car is for her son that just got out of Marine Corps boot camp. They will let him drive in a couple of weeks, the Marine Corps that is.

With the 5 surgeries I had this year, there hasn't been a lot that has made me pause and just smile. :sleepy: But damn if today wasn't one! First time on any wheels since I've owned it! :D

Thanks Roy. I've got wheels I just put those on so I can roll it outside to start painting the interior without getting axphyxiated. :p

Not like these

Come on ... you know you are not selling those

I heard they are safe in your bedroom waiting for the 70 to get done.

Priceless! rofl

Put blue LEDs into the center gauges. They used to be a yellowish green that looked kinda sickening.

Now all the gauges have the same color. Now I need to figure out how to make the radios display blue but that green disturbs me less thatn the different colored gauges.

Sorry for the crappy pic. It was taken with the cell phone. :(
