What ever happened to Halloween, Thanksgiving and then Christmas

I am not sure if this is a sign that I am driving the car too far in to the fall/winter or if they are just starting to play Christmas music too early.
My original radio only gets one channel clearly and it happens to the be the light rock channel that plays Christmas music in the Christmas season.
I took the car out over the weekend and they were already switched over to 24 hours Christmas music format I was a little surprised, it seemed too early to me.
