I think that is what they are called. See pic. Specifically this is with respect to the carcass vert Mustang I have been posting about. Both sides need replacing. They do not appear to be part of the apron assembly nor anything else I can find. They do make a heavy duty version for earlier year verts. I am fairly certain this is the only sheet metal pieces I cannot source so far. LH side has been partially cut out.

I searched the forums on my phone and then went to the computer. Did a duckduckgo search and found this thread. Looks like I get to exercise my fab skills. https://7173mustangs.com/threads/front-torque-boxes.31060/

Chris,
I might have some torque boxes on the coupe partscar. Floors shot, but front frame rails look okay as are the rockers, so there may be hope for the boxes. Or at least enough there to save you some time fabbing.

I’ve got a coupe parts car too, post a pic of the torque box 📦 areas and I can post pic of what mine look like

Looks like I may be making a visit to you to assess. Are the aprons and radiator support in decent shape? in other words the entire clip good? Will take some more pics this morning. In descriptive terms it is the area in the pic at the front of the A-pillar at the bottom(directly below the outboard ends of the cowl).

Will get some more pics and see my reply to Detrituts above.

Front end was repaired/partially replaced at some point. Radiator support has a couple holes over by the battery. Right hand outer end of radiator support is bent, but very fixable (pics later).
Aprons...not so good. Shock towers okay, but will need patching. Frame rails look decent.
I would like to keep the strutrod mounting crossmember.

Included a pic from my Mach 1. I should have taken some measurements. Other pics show what I am dealing with. I was thinking I could patch the LH outer rocker panel. Rocker is probably the first thing I need to repair and then the inner rocker installation. I need to start a building thread lol. I will take a look at FPM to see if there are different part numbers between coupe and vert

My car was stored in a barn for 20 years so hopefully mine is in good shape
Pics would be nice. Detritus is closer to me. I often see him at local shows. But his car looks a bit weathered but still better than mine. See the pics I posted in response to him

I'm currently working on my '69 Fairlane convertible. The inner rockers are shot. Aftermarket parts aren't available, so I found a sheet metal shop locally that was willing to custom fab both sides. I had to cut out the old ones and take him what was left as a pattern. They aren't concours reproductions, and some assembly required, but they'll get the car back on the road again. You might see if someone near you can do the same thing, or I'd could send you the info on the guy I used.

Probably a good idea to see this thing in person. I doubt it will provide everything you need, but some of it for sure.
I need to cut it up and get rid of it, anyway.

Let me drag it out of the pole barn and get some pics today, I know my radiator support is pretty clean if I remember right

More pics of the front end.

I replaced both torque boxes, inner rockers, floors....ect. in my 73 vert.
National Parts Depot NDP has everything you need in sheet metal.
I did have to modify alittle but good solid parts to work with.

Best of luck,
