Hey guys, can I mount this under the dash area or does it “need” to be in the engine bay? Just trying to tidy up as the previous owner was up there on care factor I don’t think

Cheers

I second the motion. In cabin is probably "better" but a bit more hassle. Mine in the engine compartment like 95% of others. Either way is fine.

I've seen these mounted inside the cabin multiple times. It's cleaner and the unit will last longer, as you'll keep the electronics away from engine heat and humidity. If you don't mind running the wiring inside the car and fandangling with the box in a hidden location, it's definitely the way to go.

One word of caution, some electronic boxes can squeal or whine, and depending on the sensitivity of your hearing, can be annoying. Of course, a nice sounding exhaust will drown out the noise from the box. Or, if your hearing is like mine, I'd have to have 5 or 6 boxes squealing to hear them. My wife's hearing, however, seems to have gotten better over the years and it would annoy her, even with the exhaust.

Thanks all for the replies. It’s no show car but just a lot neater now. New master cylinder and rocker covers next and I’ll be content.

Our 6AL is in the engine compartment (also) on the front of the passenger side shock tower. I have not felt any need to relocate it.
Yeh just from a looks point of view mate. The bay is a load neater now with it under the dash. I’m happy with it.
