Other than the usual surface rust mine are very solid with little to no pitting. If I just heat and bend the panel I have, natuarally that lip is going to come up about 1-3/4 to 2 in short of the lip to the next panel. Any problem just butt welding that short piece to the pan before installing?

Cool! That's the plan forward as soon as my other panels show up I can start welding in the floor. In the mean time I'll start shaping the ones I have tomorrow. Thanks Q!
