With the end caps installed you can see that the panel is to far to the right. With the taillights in stalled it really looks to far to the right. So from here I'm going to chicken out and have my brother help me with the final alignment.:dodgy:
Don't be scared to remove some material from the outside edge of the tailight panel where it meets the qtr on the inside & looks like you may need to remove some material from the outer edge of the qtr too on the left..Thats what I had to do to have enough "wiggle room" to center mine. Also take a measurement from the upper rain gutter to the top edge of the tail light panel on the left & the right..You want to make sure the trunk opening is square even all the way across
I did trim a little off both the panel and quarters just to get it to fit in hole. The trunk gaps along the quarters are pretty good over all. I just know what I think is good my brother will take to the next level. I'm not scared to do it my self, I'm just going to take advantage of my brothers 30+ years being a bodyman. He took autobody at Henry Abbott Tech, then went to work at Car land autobody in Danbury for years before moving to SoCal. So I would be a fool not to have him give me a hand.:D

nothing really...it's been way to hot the past couple days to drive a car w/ vinyl seats and while the car does have AC (that works ok I guess) I much prefer temps that allow the window down, arm out kind of driving, lol

Also, looking good w/ your car mike, hope you can have something driveable to make MBTB next year....Me,Ron, and a few others in my club will be there this year as always. Hope you can drop by again, lol
Hey James. I will be entering my 89 GT again this year. I would be lucky if I get the Mach in primer by time the show comes around.:-/ The MBTB is a not miss event for me.
Yeah me too, I sent my registration for it off yesterday since there's a new rule this year that in the event of a tie the person who registered earliest wins.

So I'm gettin mine in early just in case

As for what I did w/ my car today....it's still nothing though a classic car dealer friend of my dad's just bought a 73 351CJ that he'll then be selling so I'll post pics w/ info on here when I see it.

Let's see.

Spent 4 hrs aligning my right side window and quarter window to the new convertible top weatherstrip. Whew, glad that's over! Still not 100% like a modern car, but think I did pretty well.

Part of that was fixing up the window felts. I pulled the originals apart and put actual felt over some hard foam to refurbish them. Original foam was hard as a rock, new stuff has some give now.

Original material removed:

New material and foam:

Installed against the window:

While I was at it, I also installed 6.5" speakers in the doors and an amp:)

Bought new shoes. I was going to do this anyway but

the accident prompted a quicker response. Had Firestone

Firehawk Indy 500 before (7 years old) but almost all

the cars I see in the mags, press, auctions etc wear these.

Nothing w/ mine but a client of mine who is a classic car dealer just got in a 73 Q Code 351CJ that is in VERY nice condition (a bit better than mine actually).

Now he just got it delivered today so I have no other info or price but it will be for sale very soon and I will create a thread for it when it is.

But still I had to say something on here...it was too hard not too,lol

Pic I took this afternoon

A/C working again after 3 years. Wooohoo.

Finally finally had a free day to get the system serviced with new compressor.

It's so cold I actually had to turn on the heat it was 90 out and pretty much raining.
I'm so jealous. Nothing like driving home in the afternoon and getting out of the car and the back of my shirt is soaking wet. :-/

I'm looking into retrofitting factory A/C into my car.

Nice looking car. It appears that there is a pic on the windshield that should be in the VIP forum.

Nice choice Mike. BFG is about the only company making a decent radial in near stock sizes for muscle cars. I had a set, they wear like iron.
There is a question about tire pressure.

The company put 35 PSI because that is the max

pressure on the side wall. I asked them to drop that

to 29 PSI as the door sticker reads 25 PSI for a bias

ply and I understand you add 3-4 PSI when using a

P-metric.

Timed the engine, my initial was WAY off! 429 wedge, 12 degrees initial, set my idle to 800 rpms and adjusted the idle mix screws for max vacuum. Thing is purrrrrrrring.

Still have to check mechanical advance but I was working by myself.

took me 8 years and a few 1000$ dollars to make it happen. the car came with NO-OP AC and i had to replace everything to make it work.... everything...

If you try to retrofit a car that never had AC before you run into major issues which is why a retrofit Kit from classic air would make more sense if you had a heater only car.
