Why the custom hoses? Non ford pump? Is that the Blue Thunder intake?
Yes, that is the Blue Thunder intake. I was researching the internet last night and found a posting on another site where the member used this intake and was able to use the Ram Air.

I am using a GM type 2 PS pump with an external reservoir. Its part of the March Performance serpentine system.

Got a little closer today on my project. I made the mounts for the AC condenser and dryer for the car and test fitted it. Since my compressor is now on the passenger side I needed to reverse the location of those components so that I could use shorter AC lines. After I trial fitted everything I removed all of this again so that I will have more access to the front of the motor for now. Next I put in the roller rockers and preloaded them in prep for the startup.

Tomorrow I will mount the intake manifold and start connecting up the accessories. Once I have the PS pump installed I'll measure the length for the PS hoses and get them made up.

So today I continued to work on the engine by installing the valley pan gasket and the Blue Thunder intake. After the Manifold I put on the MSD EFI TB and the put on the valve covers to see what the motor would look like. Then I mounted the water pump and the brackets to mount the accessories. This is a serpentine system so one belt to drive the AC, PS, water pump and alternator. I'll be using dual electric fans for cooling so no fan blade on the water pump.

Tomorrow evening I will test fit the PS pump so I can measure the hose lengths and get those made up with the fittings. Some pics of the progress today

Thank guys for the positive comments!!

Well I tried to mount the PS pump but ran into fitment issues. Spent a lot of time trying to figure it out so I still have to come up with a solution. I took side by side pics to show the difference between the old and new pump. I did mount the new alternator (140 Amp), the crank and water pump pulleys though. I had to remove the brackets again to that I could align the back alternator bracket with the front so that the bolt would go through the bottom of the alternator. Slowly getting there but I seem to run into a lot of little issues that keeps slowing me down. I'll keep you updated.

I got the issues that I had with the PS pump worked out and it's installed. Also got the other accessories installed however the serpentine belt is a little too large so I'll have to get a smaller one. One remaining problem is I need to get a small spacer to get one of the idler pulleys aligned better. Going to take the measurements for all the PS hoses that I will need and then remove the pump so that I can take it with me when I get the hoses made up to ensure I get the proper fittings.

While I am waiting for parts I'll start wiring up some of the electrical components in prep for startup.

What if you went from water pump to ac, from ac to idler, then down to crank?
I tried that and it's a better fit however their is a bolt that you can't see between the idler and water pump. The clearance is so small that I am afraid the belt would hit and be cut. I believe that a 75 or 76 inch belt will do it and I am going to pick it up tomorrow. Thx for the suggestions, much appreciated.

Progress has slowed on my build as I am now deciding where to place the various components. First off after 5 trips to the parts supply I got a serpentine belt that fits, wound up needing a 77 3/8 inch belt. Next installed the shortened drive shaft and filled the overdrive with fluid. Also installed all the sensors for the efi system and mounted the MSD ignition box and found a spot for the coil. I found a spot for the MSD EFI control box but a need to fabricate a mount for it. I am going to put it on the passenger side on the firewall. Once I have the control box mounted I can connect all the ignition system together. Some pics of the progress today.

Only got to work on my project for a few hours today. I fab'd up the mounting bracket for the EFI control module after deciding where I wanted to mount it. The arms are at a slight angle because the mounting surface for the bracket slopes a little. When its installed the arms are level. I believe that it will work out pretty good. I will install it tomorrow with the control module after the paint has time to dry.

Couldn't find anyone locally that I felt comfortable with to make my PS hoses so I wound up talking to the Gotta Show folks in Phoenix. They do a lot of custom work and knew exactly what I needed so hopefully I'll have them back by next weekend. Probably will go with them for my AC hoses too.
