Got the Evap canister and vacuum can refinished and installed. Replaced all the stainless steel brake lines with standard metal lines because the s/s lines were PITA to work with due to the rear disc brakes. Refinished the brake booster and brake/clutch pedal hanger and will be installing them tonight. Another inch towards the finish line!
Wow, You a doing a beautiful job. Sometimes I wish that I would have gone into as much detail that you are doing. Keep up the good work.

That's funny you say that, because I often think the same thing when I look at the progress on your car! (Dang! I wish I would have done that!)

Starting to look like a Mustang!

It seems like it's all the little things that take forever. A few months ago, I bought a refurbished original shifter for the car. I didn't want to use the original knob, but the old 8 ball style one was stuck on the shifter good. After soaking the threads with penetrating oil and the friendly persuasion of a pipe wrench, the 40 year old knob came off. Went to install the new Hurst "T" handle only to find out that it has 3/8 threads and my shifter has 7/16 threads. No big deal. I'll just send the handle back and get the one with the correct size threads. Wait a minute! Whaddayamean they don't make one with 7/16 threads? This is the handle I want, and come hell or high water, that's what I'm gonna get!!! I broke out the drill press, a variety of drill bits, drilled out the 3/8 hole on the handle and cinch nut to 25/64", tapped new 7/16" threads and PRESTO!!! I now have the "T" handle I've always wanted! Yet, another step closer!!!!

They changed locations for the 1973 models.

Spent the evening cleaning and polishing the stainless steel windshield trim that I got from Don at Ohio Mustang last week. Did the old test fit and it looks great!!! Ready for glass!

I'm waiting for my A/C evaporator and brake proportioning valve to arrive before I can finish up the dashboard and brakes, so I'm at a stand still. I took the idle time and repaired/refinished my center console. It had a nasty crack on the drivers side and three holes drilled in the passenger side (I'm assuming from a C.B. radio). I glued the crack, filled it in with 3M spot putty, filled the three screw holes with spot putty, sanded, then sprayed with VHT wrinkle paint hoping to resemble some similarity to the original finish. After it dried, I sanded it just a little, wiped the whole console down with prepsol, primed and painted it with SEM interior paint. I also took the clock apart and painted the hour, minute and second hands. Overall, I'm pleased with the results. Eventually, I hope to find a console in better condition at a reasonable price, but for now, this will work!

Coming along nicely!!! Hopefully that proportioning valve will arrive this week, I am surely hoping the same. Any estimates when you will be installing your motor?

Thanks J! It will be at least 1-2 months before I install the engine. I still need to take it apart and determine if it needs to go back to the machine shop for any touch up work, and I need to send my transmission to David Kee in Texas to have it brought back to life.

I found this picture this afternoon. This was the day 1 of the restoration 22 years ago. It's come a long way and is close to the finish line, but 22 years? Damn......

Spent the last few days installing the wire harness and dashboard. Cleaned up the gauges tonight and got them installed. I need to finish the center gauges and trim and then the dash is done.1167762_10202093300760765_1848196191_n.jpg1278479_10202093301080773_1139153014_n.jpg1147873_10202093428323954_143676893_n.jpg1208619_10202093318401206_1802651577_n.jpg1305286_10202093510045997_1500355925_n.jpg1059821_10202093487685438_1664655236_o.jpg
