Haven't done much the last two weeks. I hurt my lower back and couldn't do a damn thing, except surf the net. I finally feel good enough to get back to work. Got the power steering pump and hoses in stalled, finally got to check how my new steering gear feels. Just over 2 turns, lock to lock. This thing should handle quite well. I went to install my alternator, and realized I used it on a Ranchero I had years ago. Made a quick trip to Autozone and bought a 49 dollar special. It should work until I can find the correct vintage Motorcraft unit. I hope to have the hood back on tomorrow, as it is in our guest room, and I don't think my wife likes my idea of wall art......

Glad you are feeling better Travis. That motor is looking mighty nice!!! The first thing I noticed was no AC compressor then I remembered it's a vert :) BTW, do you have any details for the meet in Apr?

Travis,

Haven't heard from you lately. How have you been doing and how is your project going? Any new updates to share?

John:

I really haven't done anything to her since November. Everything came to a halt when I decided to convert to a T5 transmission. I Finally sold the toploader set up and now I'm getting ready to order the new components. I'm a little depressed knowing it won't be ready for the 50th show. Oh well, life goes on. As soon as I get back on track, I'll make sure to post updates.

Travis

I hear you Travis. I won't be ready either. Maybe sometime later this year I can make it down to AZ and stop by on the way. I want to take the car to get the AC lines made up and pick up my 71 Roadrunner that I have in storage there.

I put the exhaust manifolds on the car tonight and put her back down on the ground. She's been on jack stands since early October. This is really the first time I've had a good look at what her stance will be with the new suspension. I REALLY like the way the front end sits with the Grab-A-Trac springs, but I'm afraid I may have screwed the pooch with the rear springs. I installed the 5 leaf springs with the standard eye position. I should have gone with the stock springs, or the 5 leaf with the "mid" eye position. Oh well, not that big (or expensive) of a fix. I still need to install the transmission, exhaust, convertible top, and fill the tank. We'll see how she sits then.

Travis - Your car is looking great! Doin' good for a displaced Okie! LOL If you decide to come back to Ok to viist, try and make it close the 'City' :) and I'll come and have a hamburger with ya.

BTW I didn't see any problem with the rear of the car not sitting right... Might be the camera angles but it looks good from what my old eyes can see.

Travis,

I just bought some Eaton Detroit 4 leaf competition springs(hard to compare to 5 leaf because they use heavier gauge steel) with 1" lowering from NPD. If you want I can bring them out and you can through one/two of them on to check the stance. On my my 05 mustang went through 3 different manufactures before I found the right one so I know what a pain it is.

Let me know.
