Fastback Seat Platforms

OK - I read the 'roughed in the floor pans today' thread, where there was discussion regarding the correct seat platforms vs. the ones that repro parts places have, and I gotta ask:

Does anybody have a new set of repro seat platforms for the fastback? My platforms are pretty much shot (like the floor pans) and I'd like to score a pair of new ones to go in shortly after I get the floor pans dropped in.

these are the one's i put in my Mach 1. http://www.laurelmountainmustangparts.com/store/7173-seat-riser-p-3082.html Pretty good fit and good head room. I have been told they are not the right ones for a Fastback but hey once they are welded in who is going to see them through the carpet? Also they are cheaper than used ones I have seen on Ebay

I remember that post, I'd think Don at Ohio is probably your best source. I had them reuse my nasty ones when I had the pans done 9 years ago...:-/

The repro ones are the coupe version. Much taller than the fastback ones.

I have them in stock.

Might have a used set of FB ones left.

Thanks Don. If you don't mind checkin', I'll be putting an order together for some other stuff as well (door strikers, hinge pins, rag joint, steering gear box, hood hinge springs, etc.)

The repros are actually only about 1/2 an inch taller than the originals.

Yea it is not enough to notice, my 72 was original and i had less head room in it than i do in my 73 with the repro riser's

Related question: Are the seat platforms necessary, or can I just bolt the seat rails directly to the floor with some reinforcements? I have aftermarket seats and have to fabricate mounts anyway.

When i got mine thats the way the seats were, bolted to floor pan and they sat way to low for my taste
